A rare edition of Agatha Christie's fictional detective novel Hercule Poirot sold for $63,400 at auction this month.
The first edition of the book, from 1924, was expected only to sell for around $4,000 to $8,000.
The price of the book skyrocketed because it was the first depiction of Poirot on a dust jacket.

After spending more than 170 years under water, 11 bottles of the world's oldest champagne sold for $156,000.
Six of the bottles were Juglar, a house that vanished in 1829; four were Veuve Clicquot and one was Heidsieck.
A shipwreck left the champagne at the bottom of the Baltic waters, but they were stored perfectly horizontally in the cold, dark waters.
